I've always had a love for art as far back as I can remember. I distinctly remember when I learned how to draw manga faces, I would draw them on every surface including my friend’s white walls (oops). I could get lost in doodling away or writing up screenplays that I would then recruit my neighbors to act in.

One thing led to the next and I began pursuing a career in filmmaking. But somewhere along the way, I lost this childlike joy for creating. It was instead replaced by immense pressure and need for perfection that was fueled by both my own self-doubt and fear of failure and societal pressure that if I were to pursue the arts, I must be excellent.

It was during this time that I fell into painting. I first tried it as a form of release and it slowly turned into something more. As I began to fall in love with the physicality of the craft, I vowed to never let that child-like joy slip away again and to release any societal and self-induced pressures for perfection.

Through my work, I hope to inspire others to quiet the voices in their head and chase their dreams. Anything is possible if we just give ourselves a try.
